Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice

This past weekend I made the trek home for an extended weekend of baking, crafting, and relaxation.  It was long over due and absolutely wonderful!  I made these...
delicious pumpkin muffins (recipe here).
mug cozies.

Ahh, I am now in the holiday spirit!

Unfailing Love

God has completely blown my mind this week.  What should have been an awful week has turned out to be such a blessing.  I caught a bad cold over the weekend but God gave me strength and reminded me of His love.  It is so crazy how much He cares about us.  It's not even that He just cares about the big things in life because He cares about the little details too!  Sometimes it is so hard to just surrender and give our worries to God.  He is SO FAITHFUL when we do though!

I've wanted my own set of stationary for a while now.  Living away from home, I find myself writing a lot more letters to friends and family.  Greeting cards don’t offer enough writing space and folded notebook paper doesn't fit into any of my cute envelopes.  I mentioned this dilemma to my mom and hinted (in the most subtle way, of course) that this might be a good Christmas present. Next thing you know, she whips out three boxes of old stationary from when she was in college.  It was like Christmas morning!  It’s so special to know that I am using the same stationary that my mom used when she was my age.  She probably even wrote notes to my dad on it! How cute is that? Not only does the stationary hold sentimental value, but it’s also way cutter than anything that I could have bought at the store.  This is just another example of how we should "shop what we got" before running to the store.  You might just find a better version of what you are looking for right in your own closet!
